About Me
—
I work as a filmmaker and cinematographer that actively balances documentary and commercial work. I employ creative non-fiction methods—film, photography, collage animation, and audio field recordings—to create inspiring stories that celebrate our diversity and surprising interconnectedness.
I studied Cinema Production and International Relations at San Francisco State University and spent a galvanizing summer living and documenting a Maasai homestead on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I then began my professional development in the San Francisco Bay Area, working in administrative roles in the non-profit and private spheres. Most notably, I spent six influential years working at Chez Panisse Restaurant in Berkeley, California where I continued to develop my eye and hone my skill with food and event photography through collaborative projects with Condé Nast and The Edible Schoolyard Project. After my time in the Bay Area I moved to Mexico City where I dove into travel and documentary filmmaking; most notably documenting the chinampero farmers of Xochimilco on the outskirts of the city.
